This work, written especially for Brian Busch, is an energetic setting of Robert Louis Stevenson’s poetry from an 1896 collection called Songs of Travel and Other Verse. 18. I Know Where I’m Going

Scottish Folk Song

This is one of the most beautiful of the Scottish folk love songs. Johnson starts with a simple flute solo, then gradually adds voices, one at a time. The ending really keeps the audience engaged until well after the final release. This is an excellent piece for concert or festival use. 2:45
