BL650_HOW_CAN_I_KEEP_FROM_SINGING - Farnell
Laura Farnell has provided a fresh, new melody as well as a new interpretation of this classic hymn text that was originally published in 1869. An absolutely gorgeous setting appropriate for unison or two-part chorus of any age.

BL654_ANTIPHONAL_KYRIE - Thrift
The traditional ABA form of the "Kyrie" is supported by a change from the 'antiphonal' section of the "Kyrie" with the more homophonic treatment of the "Christe" in this setting. Susan Thrift also uses meter to reinforce form as she moves from the common time of the "Kyrie" to the 3/4 signature in the B section. This is a very sensitive setting of the familiar prayer and is suitable for both concert and festival use. The a cappella setting adds to the warm and unemcumbered delivery of the text.

BL655_SONG_OF_THE_SPARROW - Courtney

Laura Farnell has done a masterful job setting this text by the acclaimed African-American poet, Joseph Cotter. While the night wind is often characterized as having a sad or melancholy quality, Farnell has ably captured Cotter's perspective that the wind could never be sad with the shining stars and moon for companionship. A singing melody and moving harmony lines create an elegant composition.
