Vocalist, pedagogue, and choral director Jonathan Pilgrim currently teaches at Webb Middle School in Garland, TX. While at Baylor University, he performed various solos with the A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers, Baylor Opera Theater, and Baylor Virtuoso. Jonathan enjoyed his first three years of teaching as the Associate Choir Director at Birdville High School alongside Amy Allibon. Now a head choir director, he is looking forward to his second year at Webb with Daniela Pacheco from Rowlett, TX.
Pilgrim has always enjoyed performing, writing, and listening to all types of music, and believes that an aptitude and appreciation for multiple musical genres are vital in developing comprehensive musicianship. In 2006, Jonathan advanced to Hollywood in the American Idol audition process, and was eliminated in the 5th round. He also was a featured recording artist for Baylor’s own record label, Uproar Records, recording 2 original compositions. In 2009/2010 Jonathan worked as a signed artist under Atlanta based Treeleaf Music at Tree Sound Studios writing and recording music both for himself and other label artists. Jonathan also worked as vocal coach for the label, which led him to rediscover his love of teaching vocal technique.
Choir has always been a passion for Jonathan. He has sung since he could walk, and loves to sing and share music with others.
