Thomas Elias Sugar received a Bachelor of Arts diploma in English Language and Literature from The University of Virginia and a Master of Music Education degree from Long Island University – C.W. Post. He has been an elementary classroom music and choral educator for the past 20 years and currently teaches classroom and choral music at the Hewlett Elementary School in the Hewlett-Woodmere Public School District. He has also earned an Advanced Certificate from Brooklyn College in School Administration and Supervision, and has been an Elementary Assistant Principal.
His career in composition evolved from the curriculum, with demonstrations of the songwriting process for his students and the subsequent school-wide and choral group performances of the completed works. His choral works published by BriLee Music and Carl Fischer can be found at:
